I thought of this recipe while I was walking one day. I looked up another Impossible Pie recipe and used its measurements for the "crust" part. Instead of cheap bagged shredded mozzarella, I like to use the really good kind that comes in a ball. I chop it myself into small pieces.
INGREDIENTS
- 16 ounces uncooked sausage
- 1 white onion, chopped
- 1/3 cup chopped green pepper
- 8 ounces spaghetti sauce (your favorite kind)
- 8 ounces mozzarella (cut in small pieces or shredded)
- 1/2 cup Bisquick
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup milk
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat the oven to 400*
- Brown the sausage, adding the chopped onion and green pepper halfway through the process. Stir in the spaghetti sauce once the sausage is cooked and the vegetables are tender. Remove from heat and cool slightly. Pour meat mixture into a deep pie pan. Let cool a bit more.
- Mix the Bisquick, eggs, and milk until well-blended.
- Sprinkle the mozzarella over the meat mixture. Pour the Bisquick mixture over all.
- Bake 26 minutes.
